Job description
Knack Studio – Savannah is looking for a knowledgable CERAMIC INSTRUCTOR to become a member of our team. The ideal candidate is an experienced wheel throwing instructor with excellent communication skills.
We prefer someone with professional ceramic knowledge (or several years of experience) who genuinely wants to spread the love of clay.
Role and Responsibilities
Instruct group wheel throwing classes (up to 7 people/class).
Provide instruction through varied demonstration processes.
Actively support student success through guidance, advising and assisting individual students as needed.
Setup before, and breakdown/cleanup after each class.
Keep studio clean and organized.
Respond to class-specific inquiries from participants and Independent Artists.
Basic Qualifications:
A rich portfolio showing a range of work
Intermediate to advanced wheel throwing and trimming skills.
Ability to teach beginner hand building techniques.
Firm knowledge of surface design, glazing, and clay lifecycle.
Experience firing, loading and unloading kilns is preferred but not required
Experience working with all age groups and diverse communities.
(Preferred) prior experience planning, managing, or coordinating art programs but not necessary.
Superior oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects with ease, while striving for accuracy and excellence in all areas.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Schedule:
Part-Time
3-4 hour shifts
Daytime & Evening shifts
