Job description
Knack Studio – Savannah is looking for a dedicated CERAMIC STUDIO ASSISTANT to become a member of our team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong interest in ceramics and a desire to learn the inner workings of a professional pottery studio.
This role requires basic understanding of the clay lifecycle and ceramic terminology. If you’re organized and hardworking, we can teach the rest!
Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for general studio cleaning (mopping, wiping table tops/walls, pottery wheels, aprons, studio tools and equipment)
Reclaiming clay (mixing, drying and operating pugmill)
Preparation of clay for one-time class and workshops (weighing clay & rolling slabs)
Trimming and glazing student work from one-time classes
Unloading kiln and kiln maintenance (vacuuming, kiln washing shelves, etc.)
Emptying clay trap and studio wash bin
Organizing and labeling classwork as it moves through the clay lifecycle
Willingness to learn and take direction.
Able to multitask and be pro-active, can work without supervision.
Basic Qualifications:
Strong desire to learn is a MUST.
A knack for art/all things creative would be helpful but is not required.
General understanding of clay terminology and studio equipment is required.
Ability to multitask and prioritize.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Schedule:
Part-Time
3-4 hour shifts
Daytime & Evening shifts

Pay: 1x 3.5hr work/trade shift each week + $15/hr
STUDIO ASSISTANT may grow into CERAMIC INSTRUCTOR and/or ASSISTANT STUDIO MANAGER.
